02 Corvette time machine
Corvette has been reinventing itself since 1953. These are the biggest plot twists.
A smooth white roadster with a lightweight fiberglass body starts the whole adventure.
The C2 adds the famous “Sting Ray” name and a split rear window for one unforgettable year.
After many years away, the Stingray name comes back on the sharp, front-engine C7.
The C8 puts its V8 behind the driver for the first mid-engine production Corvette.
Why “Stingray”?
A stingray fish glides through water with a low, wide shape. Corvette designers loved that same smooth, speedy feeling for the car.
03 Tiny cars, big adventures
Hot Wheels has made little Corvettes since 1968. Grab one and try these garage challenges.
Is it round like an early C1 or pointy like a modern C8?
Turn it over and ask a grown-up to help find the model name.
Make a start line, choose a favorite color, and let them roll.
The Custom Corvette was one of Hot Wheels’ Original 16 in 1968. Modern Corvette castings appear in mainline, multi-pack, Treasure Hunt, and premium releases. Special versions can have detailed paint, metal bases, or rubber “Real Riders” tires.
